Is it harmful to shift at high RPM?
Is it harmful to shift at high RPM?
I know the recommended shift point is 3 but I like to accelerate faster when I'm first at the light. But if I shift at like 4-4.5k rpm often will this kill my engine and clutch faster, or is it made for that? I have a stock 02 EX

nah, taking it up to redline on a daily basis may cause some problems over time like valves floating and stuff, but overall these are hi rpm engines with little torque. they are meant to be revved up. 4.5k is nothing, in fact on the 01+ EX, the vtec will not even kick in unless youre above 4.5k with the gas floored.
