head light issue

okay, before you guys go recall, recall... ill tell you right now its NOT a recall. I already took my car in to have the light switch and coupler replaced. when the issue occured.

Okay, now to the issue.... when i turn my light on... the left side low beam (for all i know.. it could be the high beam, and my low beams are messed up?) is fine but the right light is dim... very dim. On top of that, the hight beam light on the instrument cluster is on... but also dim. Now, when i turn my high beams on, it switches up... the right highbeam in on but the left is dim.

Any ideas? has this happened to anyone? I need it fixed asap.

2001 DX... I know its not the fuses... i took them out and they were fine. Replaced them anyways... no luck. Why is my high beam light on my dash on? but DIM. When i turn the high beams on... the icon gets to normal brightness.

Re: head light issue

got me, but what i would do is start testing the connections at the headlights with a test light, u may find that there is a drop in voltage, in which case, u might have a bad switch, connector, or wire, but id start at the problem and work my way back to the switch on the column

Re: head light issue

The headlights are provided power and are switched on by the grounding circuit through the headlight switch.

Try switching the headlights on and off rapidly and also moving the headlight switch around and while doing so watch for changes in the symptoms.

If you can get the column covers of you could also move the plug leading into the headlight switch and watch for changes.

If you need the schematic diagram PM with E-Mail and I will send it to you.

Re: head light issue

most likely a bad or corroded ground wire. check the grounds on each side of the car after removing the bumper. theyre in the front wheel well area. older eclipse had this problem too.
