Tranny question.

Back in 05 I got myself a ex coupe Auto. stupidest decision i ever made in my life. Do you guys know what manual transmissions i could get in addition to the stock manuAL tranny that will pair with the D17a2? and is it even worth doing, or should i just wait and swap to a k20 or 2?

Re: Tranny question.

I'm not aware of anything other than a D17 tranny working with a D17. I could be wrong, tho. However, as popular as these cars are, and given the fact that trannies often survive crashes, you should be able to find one without a problem. Personally, i think a k swap, with a 6 speed manual would be great, but that depends on your budget. Someone on here just did an auto to manual swap on a D17. I think it was Varner. You may want to check with him/search around for an idea of what that would cost. A k swap with tranny is going to run you at least $8k.

I actually found a complete swap for 4k im just wondering what the install price would be. a d17 tranny runs between 6-800 plus install
