This one is kind of a pain to get at, but easy once you're there. You have to remove your door panel to get at the tracks, but that's not too difficult if you're patient. I've done this a few times, and it a PITA, but easier once you done it once or twice. Take pictures as you go along if you're worried about putting it back together correctly.

Tools needed:

- Phillips screwdriver.
- panel shim or a metal putty knife
- small (precision-type) flathead screwdriver
- A digitial camera (optional, but makes putting things back together easier)
- Patience

1. Put your window down as far it will go.

2. Remove the door panel.

Now I have an '03 coupe, but the process should be similar. There should 5 screws if I remember correctly. There is a small panel behind the door handle (interior) that you will need to pop out with the flathead screwdriver (FHS from here on out). There is tab for the FHS on either the top or the bottom to fit it. Once that pops out, take your Phillips screwdriver (PS) and remove the two screws that are revealed. Put them in the drink holder in your center console.

Pull the handle assembly out a little bit and you will see a metal rod (L-shaped end) with a colored plastic dojobby on the end of it connected to the handle. Swivel the dojobby so its no longer on the long arm of the L-hook rod, and then you should be able to slowly, but firmly, pull the rod up out of your door handle. Once its out you should just see the end of the rod with the dojobby still in the handle (ref 1 on the 1st pic).

Now, there should be a dime sized plastic tab in the armrest depression right behind your window and lock controls. Slide your FHS in there and pop it out, remove the screw with your PS, and put it in the drink holder. Two screws to go.

Using your shim or putty knife, starting at the back of the armrest, slide it between the top half and lower half of the armrest on the door and gently pry up. Try not to mar the plastic surface here. Once you get it to separate a little, grab the top half of the armrest and pull up, don't jerk it, use constant pressure here. It will resist, but its just two metal pressure clips that will come out. This will expose your other two screws. Remove them with your PS and put them in your drink holder. Almost done.

Using your fingers, pry up on the part of the arm rest which holds your window and lock buttons. This will pop out just like the back half, only much easier. Disconnect the electrical plug.

Remove the door panel. (I'm serious this time)

Using your shim/putty knife, start at the back, bottom corner, and put it between the panel and the door. Slide it up or down until you can't move it much when you try separate the panel from the door. You will hear a popping noise, and the plastic pressure clip will come out of the door. Do this to two more, one on either side of the one you just did, and the rest will come out as you pull the panel out and up. Your panel is now off!

**If you have door panel tweeters, pop them out before trying to remove the panel. They should just pop right out.**

Remove the plastic weather seal covering the door itself. Be careful not to rip it, as you will be sticking it back on when you put the door back together. Warm the putty with a hair dryer on low to make it sticky again.

Once the panel and plastic are off, plug your window and lock control dojobby back in, so you can raise and lower your window to see why its off track. Correct the problem - either one the window seals has folded in, or it just skipped a beat - put the window all the way back down, disconnect your window control and put the door back together again. You can see the forward most track in the circle 3 on the second picture.

If you need to remove your window glass for whatever reason, just raise it to the point where you can see the two bolts (11 or 12mm) through the two holes (First picture, notation 2). Remove the bolts, don't worry, there is a lip that keeps the glass from falling, and pull the glass out from the top, towards the inside.

I hope this helps. I'm doing this all from memory, and from my '03 coupe, but it should be accurate for your 01 sedan. Hit me if you have any questions!
