Noise while driving, maybe steering pump

Hey thanks for any help on this issue, well anyway, i get up and go to my car one morning and there is a strange noise, a whine coming from the right side of the engine around the pulleys. My check engine light comes on while i crank and briefly afterwards. I think it is my power steering pump. I want to check the fluid but i dont know where the **** is!? Now a few days later its still there and doesnt start whining until i let the engine warm up. I feel a strange bump in the steering about a half wheel's turn, turning left. Any help will be much appreciated

It actually makes the noise when im not turning is it even possible that it is the power steering pump? The Maintenence req'd light comes on only during startup, could it be the starter?

My 05 has a similar whine at start up. Goes away once warm. The PS fluid is front drivers side top. (small plastic cap on larger container)

go to autozone and have them run yer codes.. then post whatever codes you get here and we will tell you what they mean

and fyi yer powersteering fluid reservoir is located behind the drivers side headlight above the alternator.. it has a red cap..

it is neither of those. how many miles are on your motor? i am almost 100% sure its your power steering belt or alt belt. not the pump or fluid. power steering fluid is the red cap directly to the right of the ps pulley. i have the same exact problem, only happens when cold, the noise goes away when the engine is warmed up. its the belt slipping on the pulley. in my case its the alt pulley. either tigthen the belts or its time for a belt replacement. the maint. req. light has nothing to do with how the car runs, the light just turns on at certain mileage intervals to remind you that its time to check on certain things listed in your manual. rep me if this helped you.

So i went to the Honda dealership knowing how that can go and they said its the actual alternator. Wanting upwards of 700 bucks to fix it. So i think its the belt too because i've never had any problems starting up. What a waste of 70 dollars!
