I have a 2002 LX sedan and i got it from a dealer fully checked/serviced new tires and all about 2 months ago. Recently maybe twice a week randomly i will be coming up to a red-light that i know is going to last a while so i pop it in neutral and just sit there and when the light turns green i'll push the clutch all the way in and go to put it in first but it just doesn't seem like it is enganged so when i let off the clutch it's still in neutral even though the stick is in first. I have to FORCE it into first and sometimes it will make a grinding noise. This happened once going into reverse too but i have no idea why.

you might have to bleed the clutch. i just did it on my brothers probe and he had the same problem.

Could also replace the tranny fluid. My 01 was getting tough going into first, changed the fluid and no more problems.
