Question A/C light stays illuminated

My problem is this. First, my a/c is off (light not illuminated) But when I turn my fan on, cold or hot air blowing, while the dial is in the windshield defrost mode (not rear defrost) and windshield/feet, I can hear my a/c compressor turn on and the a/c light illuminates! But in any other mode, (Blowing out the dashes, dash and feet or what ever) the a/c compressor doesn't turn on, only in the windshield and windshield/feet mode. What is the problem?? This shouldn't be happening, right? Electrical problem maybe? Any ideas?

When you have the front defroster on the ac stays on. It's the way the car is supposed to be. No clue why it does. There is a DIY to be able to turn it off during the front defrost though, I think.

This is normal operation. The A/C compressor cycles in defrost mode to dehumidify the cabin. It also has the added benefit of keeping the A/C compressor lubricated during the winter months.

Thumbs up

Wow, you guys are quick! lol

Suppose to be like that eh? Hmmm. I guess it makes sense. The thing is, my friend has a 2004 Honda Civic and his doesn't do this. I guess Honda received similiar questions like mine towards this issue and decided to fix this. Thanks though for your guys input. Much appreciated.

I searched for a topic that would tell me how to turn the light on and off but I got nothing. And no, the light simply just doesn't turn on/off when pushed in the windshield defrost mode, only in the other modes does the light go out when a/c button is pushed.
