Engine Delay?

I noticed that when I am driving and start a heavy increase in throttle that it has recently been delaying the power.

In other words, it will be a sudden delay and then wil quickly accelerate like normal.

I did this today, and it delayed a little longer then normal. I stop right away and notice my check engine light on.

All I have in an intake, and I've had it for about 2 years now. The motor does have oil, but it seems to have a faint smell of gas in the oil.

Any idea on what the possible problem could be guys?

well if the light came on get the code read at advance or autozone. it will tell you the problem. i would look at that first, then based on that i can tell you other things to check.

I have a similar problem, and I had my code read and it said it was a p1300 (multiple cylinder misfire) I believe! Good luck figuring it out!
