Trunk/Gas LEVER stuck...

Due to crime I usually use my key to lock the trunk lever so that thieves can't open it from inside of my car. Well not too long ago I brought my car in for alignment and tire service and I notice a few days later the problem:

Even unlocked the lever (lift up for trunk and push down for gas) seemed stiff. I could open my trunk, but if I force it to go up all the way. I push down and open the gas door, but it has to be all the way down.

I don't know if it was the service guys that tried to open my trunk or not, but that's when I noticed the problem arise.

Question: How can I take apart that piece apart and mess around with it? I think it's the cable that is no longer attached. Thanks ahead of time.

The cover slides/pops off for some access. You can then get a socket on the bolt to loosen the assembly.

Yeah, it was right after I installed that and the lower tie bar... I didn't see any cables though... How did you fix it?

i just unbolted the bar where it was laying ontop of the cable and just had the cable go over the bar.
