Headlight problems (drivers side does not work) - No.. Not a recall, please help ASAP

Alright...

Passenger headlight works fine

Driver side headlight does not

Before you start saying, "recall, recall", no... My car was not issued a recall,

I searched many times and its funny how everyone always mentions recall right away and they dont even tell you what to do...

I guess ill be the first... Check out,
https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/login.asp

If you dont have an account make one, sign in, click "recalls" and enter you VIN#, and it will TELL YOU, if there is a recall for your car.

BACK TO TOPIC

No.. Its not because of high wattage bulbs...

As mentioned...

Passenger side headlight works... Drivers side does not.

The odd thing is...

Passenger Headlight AND foglight works... Drivers side headlight AND foglight DO NOT WORK

So... I' am thinking its a problem with the headlight harness? Anyone have ideas? Some people mentioned it had to do with fuses? Well, engine bay fuses are fine...

Someone mentioned something about curcuit work going bad or something?

Anyways, I' am in need of help because Its very hard to drive around my area with just 1 headlight and I drive for literally 80 minutes/night and I definatley dont want a ticket. So, any information would be great.

well the first thing to do is check to see if the bulbs are burnt out. You dont understand how many times customers use to come in and say they were having issues because half of there light bulbs in the car didnt work. And it ended up being burnt out bulbs. I replaced 6 bulbs on this one ladies car one time. SO check the bulb first.

Next if the fuse looks ok, doesnt mean it is ok. You need to physically make sure power is going though it. fuses can look good and be bad.

You also have a relay for both the driver and passenger headlight. Its possible that the relay failed.

But the best thing would be to check for power to the headlight. Also does the high beam work for the driver side headlight?

Bulbs are fine...

Ill swap out the left headlight fuse tomorrow to see if it is the fuse...

Usually you can tell if a fuse is broken (hopefully in this case i cant)

where is the relay located? and how much is that? Would I be able to DIY it?

the relay is located in the under hood fuse box. There is a test procedure to test it. it involves applying power and ground to pin 3 and 4 and seeing if there is continuity between pins 1 and 2. there should be. And there should be no continuity between 1 and 2 when power is disconnected from 3 and 4.

And yes I should have also asked what year. the 04-05's headlights circuit is different then 01-03.

talk about brining a dead thread back to life, but i seems that i am having very similar problems. i just rewired my gauge cluster wire connector to swap a 03-05 cluster into my 05 VP and that worked out fine, BUT, heres the issues im having with my headlights now:

When i turn on lowbeams:
- only passenger side turns on
- Driver side highbeam comes on

when i turn on highbeams:
- Only passenger highbeam comes on

i checked the bulbs to see if maybe my driver side burned out, i swapped the passenger side with the driver side, and theyre both working on the passenger side. anyone have any ideas what could have happened? sorry for bringing this thread back up i just really need the help
