no functioning gauges

Greetings,
Yesterday morning while driving to work I had no functioning gauges on my 05 Civic LX. The tachometer, speedodometer, temp gauge, and fuel gauge needles would not move...just like when the car is off. When I got to work I turned the car off then turned it back on again and everything seemed to be working as normal. I haven't had this problem again since. Anybody know what may have caused this? Thanks!

It's a glitch. It's rare, but can happen. If it happens again, more frequently, I'd have it looked at by honda for "safety"

Today it happened for a second time...despite having the gauge cluster replaced by the dealership during my whole SRS light fiasco. When I started the car the cluster would light up, but none of the gauges would function. I turned the car off and then on again, and they were working. Exactly the same thing that happened the last time a few months ago. What kind of strange glitch causes this to happen?

It's a momentary communication glitch between the ECU and the cluster. They talk to each other through something like a serial link. If it's that rare, I wouldn't worry about it. Is your battery in good shape, btw?
These cars are getting way too complicated.

Let Honda solve the problem on their bill. Get it all documented as well.

The battery is good as far as I know. The car had an oil change at the dealership a few weeks ago, and they checked the battery off saying it was good. There are no other signs of the battery going dead. You're right about these cars being complicated. Even the service techs at the dealer have seemed perplexed by this car's issues.
