Hey there, I did a search for 5k choke but my search came back negative.
I have a 03 ex auto and only a CAI. When I rev her, it .. cuts / chokes @ 48-5k with no codes.

first off is your check engine light on?
Next if not, reset the ECU. turn off all accessories and start engine and hold it at 3000 rpm untill the radiator fan comes on. then let it idle for 5 minutes. that should fix the problem.
