I noticed that the orange lightbulb behind my moonroof switch is dying..it sometimes wont turn on unless i tap it. the light behind the cruise control switch is also dead...

The honda dealer wont replace the bulbs for me under waranty because they claim light bulbs are wear items.

ya man, you should be able to remove the cover over the switch and replace the bulb. You can use this diy below for some more ideas about led lights.

Hope that helps.

i actually replaced the cruise and moonroof light bulbs with some slightly brighter ones from an old gauge cluster. Just unwrap the old ones and wrap the wires of the new one in the same way. No soldering or anything. You just swap in its holder. I can send you a couple if you want for $1.

i think i have a few bulbs here and there...i'm gonna go look into the bulb problem when i have some time...

the switch lights aren't that important but i'm worried about the light bulbs inside the gauge cluster..i'd hate to have to dissassemble the cluster just to change a few bulbs....and at the rate that my dash lights are dying, im worried teh gauge cluster lights will start dying too...

the gauge cluster bulbs just twist off from the back. No need to open it at all. And they use more common sizes, at least the 01 uses #74 mini.

I don't think so, I think it is bumper to bumper warranty 3yrs. 36,000. Bulbs, brakes, and all. Some things might be just 12 months though, but I think bulbs are covered for the full warranty. I just noticed you live in Canada, isn't it something like 48,000 km. But still basically the same warranty and rights.

If you try to take of the cruise control button and break it, you might void the warranty. You might want to pursue this issue.

You can take the car to another dealer too. It doesn't have to be the one you bought the car from. You might want to get a second opinion.

Aren't the tires under a separate warranty anyway from the tire manufacturer?

I guess you're probably right but it doesn't make sense to be that they can get out that easy on the brakes, wouldn't they have to be covered for at least a year?

Now that I think of it the bumper to bumper coverage might only be 12 months 12,000 mi. Wearable items like brakes and bulbs and the stereo and component type things. (maybe the battery too?) would be out of warranty. You've probably had the car longer than that, so maybe your bulbs are out of warranty.

darklegacy540 is on a distinguished road
So did you end up replacing all of them?
After all this, it sounds like a good reason to do the LED conversion..

i've had to solder new bulbs into the cruise/moonroof/mirror. The problem is they get way too hot in that tiny switch and overheat. My switches are all hot. I doubt this is as much a problem with the center lights.

LED CONVERSION? Is it a custom job that you go out and get the pieces or do they come as a kit?
