turn signals died

ok well i painted the trim around the center console and the vents yesterday. so today i go to drive to class and i get in the car pull out and then as im about to make my first left hand turn from my street i turn on my turn signal, and nothing happens. the little lever went down, but the light doesnt light up. so i tried turning on the right one, that doesnt work either. so i try to turn on the caution thingy that turns on both signals, that doesnt work either. so im thinking maybe its just not working on the dash. so i go back to my house, try turning them on, and nothing! so im like WTF?! i mean all i did was unplug the wire from the hazards button on the center console. i think i broke it when i took the button out, but i mean still wtf? it made all my signals die?

Check your fuses. Maybe you blew one of them when you hooked everything back up.

Same thing happened to izmaxx when he painted his. Yeah he broke the switch thing or something about it when he was painting his center console because of the way he dismantled it.

The turn signals and hazard switch work together. Make SURE it's plugged in.

Damn, I was just gonna say hazards. If it's not the hazard switch, then it should be a fuse, I had this issue too on a car whose center console I had done - thankfully I resolved it before I let the guy drive home.

You said in your first post you may have broken your hazard switch...do you have access to another one? Perhaps borrow a friend's for a few minutes?

ok well i checked the fuses, theyre fine. and like i said before everything was plugged in. so now im out of ideas cause no i dont have access to another one. ill prolly just order a hazard button from honda since its only $15, but i still dont know what it is, just hoping that its got something to do with that. $15 is a lot for a ****ing button though lol, but not too much if it gets my turns signals up and running again.

In order to preserve legality, yes, $15 beats a ticket which would surely cost multiple times that (for failing to signal a lane change/turn).

It's times like this I wish I had a teleportation device, so I could just hop on out and check the shizzat out myself.

Oh, it just hit me - when you plugged back into the hazard switch, did you check the switch assembly to make sure all necessary pins were still straight and (of course) still there? If a pin had been broken off or bent out of the way, then of course the switch may be pooched.

There are 2 sets of fuse blocks in the car. One underneath the dash on the drivers side, under the steering wheel. The other is in the engine bay, on the passenger side. It's a 15A fuse. One of the other members kept blowing hers and I finally fixed it for her after ripping out all unnecessary wiring and switches that someone installed for her. Since then, no more problems.

But doublecheck that fuse. I betcha that might be what's blown.

i checked both fuses, one is a 10a (which is under the hood), the other is a 7.5a (under the steering wheel), there were no 15a's for the turn signals. i think the one under the hood was labeled as hazard fuse, and the one under the wheel was like turn signal fuse or something. both were fine though.

It might be your flasher relay...don't know how or why that wouldn't gone out, but it's always a possiblilty. Other than that, I would say it has to do with the wiring to the hazard switch.
