Bad Reception w/heater
well...after all..i finally discovered a problem with my civic....okay so yesterday night while driving home i accidently hit the heater while trying to put the ac on..i was listening to the radio and when the heater went on my radio made stacticky noise..so i just shut it off and the radio worked fine..so im like wtf..i put it back on and again the "st" starts blinking and the reception is all staticky..i dunno what the prob is..i just got my tints but i dunt think thats it cuz the radio works fine...ne1 have this prob..lol i doubt it..
if you notice next time you look at your car, there's no antenna, anywhere....that's because they integrated it into the rear window. all the lines you see back there have 2 purposes, one as an antenna, and two as defroster. it's prolly just some electric noise being picked up by the antenna...i'm sure someone will explain the exact reason, but i'm sure there's absolutely nothing wrong with your car.

I really doubt the heater would cause static unless you have a faulty ground someplace. It's probably the tint blocking the radio signal.
mine does it when you put the Vent button i think its the vent button the one all the way to the left on the bottom row of lil buttons..had the car over a year thats the first time i noticed it about 4 nights ago i was astonished
whoever put your tint on screwed up becuase they broke one of the antenna grid lines. Easiest way to find the break is to put a piece of cardboard on the outside of the rear glass, then with a piece of steel wool rolled into a point, slowly go across the antenna grid from one side to the other. Make sure the rear defroster is on. When you go across the open in the grid with the steel wool, you will see sparks. then take it to a glass repair shop or a dealer to have them repair the grid
I dont have any problems after tinting my window (Quantum Film) and its not even dark. However, I find it very hard to listen to AM stations on my aftermarket HU. I guess aftermarket HU isnt meant to be tuned at AM stations
i had this same exact problem on my old 97 eclipse gsx. rear defroster on, radio reception sucked. turn it off and its crystal clear. the antenna wasnt built into the rear window, i had an automatic mast style. no tints on the car either. i dont know what the problem was, just saying there could be a correlation (sp?) between the two and it might not be the tints
