Suspension Pop
Okay so here is a wierd one....If I let my car sit for awhile (long enough to completely settle) and then drive I get a wierd binding/clanking/clicking/popping noise when if first touch the brakes (only on a light touch and not a full brake press)...what the heck is this??? I mean is it a brake issue, or is it a suspension issue? I have no idea...Anyone else have this weird noise????

so when you let your car sit for awhile and then start to drive, does this happen right when you go to break for the first time? If so either your rotors are warped and need to be turned or replaced, or you need to check your drums. They might be warped too. I had the same problem and replaced my rotors and drums and it went away.

no ****....huh, that is funny since i am like the easiest person on brakes that I know....hmmm, warped rotor after 20K miles, yeah i don't think i'm gonna be the one paying for this....thanks streetglower, i guess that i will call honda today....
Front or rear? The front pads are known to click if you reverse and hit them, then drive forward and hit them again. If it is the rear, the shoes might be out of adjustment and you're hearing the springs. My right rear was out of adjustment at 23k and made noise until I fixed it. Self-adjusting my A$$.

It's probably just the brake pads clicking as they reposition themselves, mine do this every morning. If it's when he lightly touches the brakes he needs his rotors turned.

yes I have hawk pads and brembo blanks. if you are getting all sorts of shitty noises the first time you break, most likely it is your rotors or drums. Just to make sure, have them looked at. Have a shop get the specs on the rotors and drums and have them check the pads as well.

if you still have the oem brake pads, then its your front brake pads shifting when you step on the brakes for the first time. if you're not sure then try this: reverse the car and let it roll a little bit and step on the brakes for a complete stop. then go forward and step on the brakes for a complete stop. if you hear a pop or a click, then its your front pads. its totally normal for this to happen, especially on your honda. try this, its better than replacing parts that are still good.

Stock pads don't fit in the stock caliper too well... go figure. It seems to go away when they're changed for ANY aftermarket ones... so its a simple solution.
