Dead headlights...bulbs or something bigger?

Tonight my headlights died on me coming home from work. I had to drive home with the hi-beams on, but even they seemed like lower than normal intensity. I checked the two headlight fuses, they're ok. It would seem odd that both would just go out like that at the same time. Last night I was stopping at a stop sign and when I was checking right, I thought I saw my headlights go out. When I looked back to center, they were on. I figured I imagined it, but maybe I didn't. Just the bulbs or does this info make anyone suspect anything else?

there is a recall for the headlight wiring on here some where. Call honda and ask them. Alot of 2002 civic owners got a thing in the mail. Basically people headlights are going out without warning. They replace something in the headlight wiring.

Yep, headlight switch recall. Make sure you have STOCK bulbs when you take it in.
The connector burns on the switch. Honda replaces the switch, and the overheated wire. My mom's 01 had it done, no questions asked. My 02 does not seem to have the problem.

The recall was actually for 01's.

I have 2002 and I got a recall in the mail. However, I have no problem with my headlights. I am gonna wait until my warranty is up by this Nov. then take it in for replacement.

Probably did affect some 02's. Take it in anyway, ours was fixed promptly in about 2 hours. Don't wait for the wires to fry.
