Angry HAHA - My mechanics SUCK AZZ!!!

quick history....For like the last year or more I've been complaining about my car not holding a good idle. From time to time it would just literally die whenever I get off the gas....like it's doing now. My first gear acceleration was pathetic in comparisson to how it WAS and it was boggin out big time.

My dealership replaced the following to try and fix this...

3 alternators
3 A/C Compressors...Well one was defective so really only 2
1 IAC Valve (idle air control)

So I finally get pissed and go to two other dealerships for other opinions...

both times they say...Ummm..that's your Throttle Positioning Sensor, go to your dealership and have them replace the Throttle Body. You have to replace the whole TB to get a TPS...gay but whatever.

WTF!!

I'm going tomorrow to get it diagnosed so they can order the new TB and then I guess the day after I'll go back to get it installed.

So I probably never had a bad engine...I probably just had bad fuggin mechanics!!

Dude that's harsh...good luck. Be sure to let that first mechanic know how much of your money he has wasted....maybe he can do the throttle body for free (sounds like he should)

Damn Pharoh, you're still having this problem, huh?

Actually, the IAC valve replacement was probably a good call on their part ... since they were following the instructions on that TSB you found a while ago. But I agree, the 3 alternators and 3 ac compressors is a joke.

It's funny, I had this problem intermittently during my first year (2001). But I haven't encountered it again for the last 2 years. I just assumed it was a side-effect of
my new engine breaking itself in.

It can also be your cable getting stuck or recoiling back too far. You can clean off the spool with Gunk and relube with WD-40.

Apparantly there's a test for the gasket to which i learned but I can't really word it.

you sorta grab the whole TB and rock it back and forth...if the car chugs big time, the gasket is bad.
