Noise coming from power steering

is it normal for the steering wheel to make 'squealing' noises? I guess it's only noticeable when it's hot out.. or if the car's been sitting in the sun....

when's the last time you checked your belts? That's probably what is making the noise.

When I had that noise it was actually the Altenator going bad. I thought it was the power steering to.

There was a service bulletin where they stated that the belt tension was to tight and causing the interal bearing to to go bad.

It was a $350 fix at the dealer for the part and labor. Plus a coupon for service work over a hundred dollors.

Take it to the dealer. They look at it for free.

What?! are you sure? It only happens when I turn the steering wheel when it's hot out or if the car has been sitting in the sun.. other than that.. it's fine...

hmmm

damn, i got the same problem.......is it actually that bad??

i though it's only the plastic sleeve surrounding the steering wheels!

did you guys mis-understood his problem? the squicky noise was heard inside the cabin, not on the engine compartment.

btw.. if it is the alternator or something in the engine compartment.. would it be obvious to tell? I just had the car fully inspected during an oil change 1 wk ago.. I'm sure they would've seen something that severe
