Vtec engine...between first and second shipt point I hear a 'PSHHHH" sound. Almost like a turbo? The wifes LX dont make it so i guess it has something to do with the Vtec?

You sure you dont have a turbo??? Never heard of that happening man, dont know what to tell you. Do you have an intake or anything, cause vtec doesnt sound like a turbo.

if it makes any1 feel better; on cold or mild nights, my console area (where the headunit is located and ac controls) making a supercharger-like sound. it DRIVES ME INSANE almost...makes me NEVER want one for sure..lol. ive been told 4 different things from members on the site in FL:

1. you have distortion or interference with your audio hookups
2. you have a leak in your exhaust
3. you have a leak in your downpipe
4. its prolly jus the intake being weird and making strange noises..

lol idk...its mad annoying tho...ALMOST as annoying as my Neuspeeds squeaking and moving about in position when turning

lol i feel every1's pain..hehe

Maybe Honda, being the *****-out F.I. gurus that they are, accidentally installed a turbo on your car as an experiment and then forgot to take it out before they put the car on the lot for sale. Merry Christmas!!

Its not a whinny sound when accellerating its more like a BOV sound between shifts. only under hard accelleration too. Possibly the valve train VTEC dissengaging.

yeah i know what you are talking about

under WOT when the tranny shifts from 1st to 2nd, during the shift you can here a little "pshh" sound. kinda faint, can here it beter with the windows down. i thought it was just like pressure from the tranny or somethin... i like it!!!

i think this is with autos only.

I drove the LX no sound. I drove another EX at the dealer it made thsame sound, only a little lower because there was no intake. So I guess teh vtec generally sounds different.

The AEM Cais tend to make a nice hissing sound during WOT. My auto makes a slight whining noise down low from about 1000-300 during regular driving (d17a1 (non vtec)) Its kinda faint but it sounds nice and dosn't really get annoying.

Most likely intake. My brother's D16Z with generic intake makes that sound on every gear even at low throttle. (like.... 30%). I have a V2 (or had b/c it's broken and AEM is not being too nice about it, but thats another story) on the LX... no sound.
