Unhappy Prob w/ car almost caused 3car accident need help

im driving home tonight on the van wyck express way i just get on the parkway
i gave it some gas to get on car was doing about 50. Next thing i know
the car just keeps increasing speed and is almost redlineing. I put both feet on the brake, the e-brake on , and the car just keeps getting faster and faster. i put it in neutral and it just revs to almost 8grand, almost rearend 3 cars trying to get over, finally get over and had to shut the car off to get it to stop.
i just had a sf turbo kit installed about a week ago and the car has been running
perfectly until this happend. I dont think it is the turbo and i cant see why it would have
anything to do with that ???

Please i need help what could this be, what could it be caused from, and how do i fix it.
i obviousley cant go to honda cause of the turbo kit.
anyone know what this could be caused from ??

Stuck throttle cable? Maybe something from the new turbo setup is preventing it from moving as it should.

I have read several complaints of this happening on one of the recalls sites.

Usually involving non-modified civics, and in some cases causing accidents.

Honda, of course, never found a problem. These fell under customer complaints, and so far there have not been enough to warrant any action from Honda. Another very common complaint, apparently, is the failure of the airbags to deploy in severe crashes. Now THAT has me worried.

As for the throttle, this could be the result of the throttle body getting stuck. The engine needs a large volume of air to be able to speed up this way, so a fuel injector malfunction alone could not cause this. It's a weird one......

I can see this happen on the accord, which is indeed drive by wire. No physical cable between the gaspedal and the throttlebody.

so i should look to see if something is blocking the throttle cable ?
is that it, thats the only thing it could be ? anything else i should pay particular attention too ?
i just dont want it to happen again while im on a side street or somewhere residential or in heavy traffic ..

But the turbo kit does not use the stock air box.

Anyhow, check the throttle cable and make sure everything can move freely. The other possibility could be the cruise controll module.

i think its the clamp thats holding the piping to your throttle body. the same thing happened to me when i was installing a sri. the oem clamp from honda that i was reusing was misaligined and when i was backing up the thorttle got stuck at WOT. i had to turn off the car when it was redlining to get it to stop. hope this helps you out.

found the problem.....
there was a relay by the fuel system that came loose and was hanging and when you stepped on the gas, it got caught on the throttle cable.... so i just mounted it in a diff. place and seems that everything is fine.

i had the same thing happen to my car....twice actually....both several months ago... i checked under the hood to see if something was getting pinched or jammed in the mechanism (its M/T), but nothing was anything near it, and i STILL don't know what was causing it. it would just rev up, as if i was just stepping on the gas more and more, even if my foot was no where near the gas pedal, or was on the brake. when i would step on the clutch to take it out of gear, it would just rev up really fast, and i ended up pulling over to the shoulder and just shutting it off....once i turned it back on, it worked ok, but i was doing it for almost a mile before i could pull over.
