Problem with heat

Is anyone else having a problem heating up their civic? Mine only starts getting warm after about 15-20mins. Thats if the car is moving. Sitting still takes longer. Anyone knows something I can do to fix this problem. Maybe I need some sort of service done. I don't know.

that doesnt sound right that it takes so long for the car to warm up. most of the time the problem has to do with the theromstat. its a pretty easy fix if you know what you're doing but is kinda messy. so yeah, get a new theromstat.

sounds normal to me. When exactly do you turn on the heat? Do you let the car fully warmed up before turning on the Heat?

20 minutes is way to long. Our cars reach operating temp pretty quick, usually within the first few miles at least thats what mine does. Sounds like you thermostat as mentioned above.

You referring to the idiot gauge on the dash? HA. That POS reads full temp at 125 deg. The thermostat pops somewhere around 180-185 and the car eventually ends up at 205-210. I'd say it takes a good 3-4 minutes of driving to hit 180, then maybe 4-5 more minutes to open up to 205, maybe 10-20 (or more if its cold) if you idle it to warm up. Its not very quick, the gauge in the dash is pretty misleading. It says the same thing at 220 as it does at 125.
