'09 EX Random Horn Beep with Dash Light Blink [solved?]
Hello, I'm new to the forum. We have a 2009 Civic EX Coupe. It has started randomly beeping the horn while driving. Whenever this happens the parking lights flash also, so you see the green headlight indicator blink and all the other dash lights dim as if you're turning the headlights on/off. Usually it's 3 quick beeps with light flash but sometimes it repeats so quickly that it sounds like random fast beeping. It's almost like the car thinks the lock button on the FOB was pressed except that it beeps/flashes 3 times instead of 2 and it happens while driving which can't happen with the FOB.
have tried the following without any luck:
- Replaced the battery in the key fob.
- Cleaned the battery terminals at the battery.
- Cleaned the power terminals entering the under hood fuse/relay box.
- Checked fuses and relays for contamination and re-seated them all.
I'll keep adding info here as I figure things out....until there are replies to the thread, then I'll post as a reply.
I think there is an aftermarket remote start system on the car (didn't know it existed, never had the remote) which may be the problem. I found it under the dash. It's Code Alarm CA5152 with a FlashLogic FLCAN.
Any ideas what to try next?

I was able to remove it in under an hour. Actually pretty easy with the dash panels and column covers removed. 99% that solved the problem. Hasn't happened again in 3 test drives.
