No crank no start - but only when cold 2010 civic

I'm having an intermittent "no crank no start" issue. I turn the key (dash lights, headlights, etc) come on, but nothing happens. With continued attempts, the car will eventually start. Sometimes it takes 3 times, sometimes 10. However, once it starts, the car starts/runs totally fine the remainder of the day. The issue only happens again the next morning or when the car sits idle for maybe 5 or is 6 hours.

I've done quite a bit of research and followed troubleshooting from various folks in this and other forums with similar issues. Battery tests are good, purchased new key from honda, ignition switch meters fine, and I've replaced the starter relay.

I have not metered or tested the starter. That's next on my list, but it doesn't seem likely given the fact that the car runs perfectly fine after the first "no crank no start" episode in the morning.

A buddy loaned me a OD2 scanner. Any chance this will give me a clue?

Would really appreciate any help.

I am currently experiencing the exact same situation with our 2009 Civic. I'm going to stick my neck out and say that I think my issue is related to cabin temperature. Something electronic within the cabin does not like the frigid cold. I say this because once the cabin is warmed up, it never happens again. Requires frigid, saturating, overnight temps. It could be zero degrees out, but if it is sunny and the cabin warms just slightly, we will have no issue cranking.
Have you had any luck solving your situation?
