2006 civic battery drain
I have a 2006 honda civic lx sedan. It has battery issues all the time, i cant get more than 4 years out of an oem honda battery, they are warrantied for 100 months at the dealer, so i never have to pay full price. I have read that the constant drain while engine is off is from the srs unit which is the computer that runs the airbags. My new battery will drain from 12.6v to 12v in about three days. So i have to drive it for 15 minutes every other day. I park on the street so charging isnt easy. I used to use a solar powered battery tender but it doesnt stop charging when battery reaches 100%. I think it harms the battery. So thats why i drive it now all the time or 3 to 4 times a week. Anyone else having this problem? One issue too is the size, its about 2x bigger than my motorcycle battery
Re: 2006 civic battery drain
15min every other day is too low. Full recharge you'll need at least 30minutes to an hour depending on how low it goes. And that's constant cruise, like a highway trip, not idling at lights.
think about how long it takes you just to charge a small phone battery.

Re: 2006 civic battery drain
Well i test the battery with a volt meter digital and it reads around 12.4 or so then after a fifteen minute drive it reads at 12.6 with engine off for 30 minutes. So it seems to work
