thump noise when stopped
thump noise when stopped
so my car when stopped and on the brakes makes a loud thumping noise sometimes from the front and sometimes from the rear, noise goes away once i start driving.
the noise does however happen sometimes even when the car stopped with no brakes and just the handbrake applied.
what do u guys think it might be? i know i need like NEED new brakes but could it be the caliper? brake booster? or something?

disassemble once, inspect, check for loose bolts, frozen sliders.
Then, if needed, buy and replace parts
Asking before even inspecting is not a good approach

Need to pull the wheels off and inspect, either get a heater and deal (what I usually do), or pay someone

Re: thump noise when stopped
if rotors are rusted, they will stick to the pads, especially if parked for some time.
if not rusted, it could be the sliders that are stuck. Disassemble, lube the sliders and test.
