New Pad Fit Issue
New Pad Fit Issue
Hi,
I’m replacing the front pads on my 2012 Civic Coupe EX and I’m having a real battle trying to fit the new pads into the pad holders. I’ve got the pad holders out and I’ve cleaned them all up and installed the clips and greased the contact points but I just can’t seem to get the pad to fit into position! That is, the pad seems to “tall” by like 1-2mm. I’m not talking about fitting the caliper over the installed pads, this issue is just getting the pad into its resting place in the holder.
I’ve done pads on Civics before and never encountered this. I’m using OEM Honda pads with part number 45022-TR3-A02. Anyone got any clue why they won’t fit in?
Thanks!

Re: New Pad Fit Issue
Is it the pad itself or the metal backing? I've encountered the latter with my friend's 08 civic (albeit aftermarket pads) and I fixed that by peeling off the back plate and sticking it back within the borders of the pad itself
