Ceramic brakes grinding????
Recently, I had done a little revamp of my 2008 Civic sedan. I changed out the wheel hubs in the front along with the wheel bearings, and proceeded to work on the brakes. My rotors looked to be fine seeing as they had been changed previously around 6 months ago. I made the switch to Ceramic brakes because they were only $15 more and came with a lifetime warranty. This is my first experience with them, and before I replaced them, the brakes were fine, just a little worn, but no sound. I switch the pads over, and drive it a bit, only to notice a scraping noise coming from two tires' brakes that were just replaced. Idk if has anything to do with the brakes or if it's because I haven't got the car aligned yet after messing with the wheel hubs and axles. I'm hoping to change out the shock absorbers and strut assemblies as well, but I wanted to get feedback on my brakes before I moved along in this project.
Re: Ceramic brakes grinding????
Pads with a lifetime warranty are super hard so they eat your rotor faster but the pad last longer. Ceramic pads can also be noisy when cold or just noisy all the time depending on the compound.
