My 2012 Honda has a mild screeching noise(that can be heard from inside) when turning left or when accelerating the car.

The car has recently had an oil change and has less than 50,000 miles on it (don’t recall exact miles, but can provide that if needed). Prior to the oil change, there were no issues with the car.

Are there any suggestions on how to diagnose the issue? I am going to take to Honda (who did the oil change) but they’re like you’re going to charge me for diagnosing it. Any thoughts on what the issue is?

power steering related.
check if they dropped oil on the powersteering belt

Hi, thank you for responding.
My understanding is that 2012 Honda Civic does not need power steering fluid. I pop the hood and checked but could not find anywhere where I could pour power steering fluid. I was told that the car has an electric power steering and therefore does not need a fluid.

Are you suggesting that they probably dropped some fluid on the power steering belt? Is the belt easily visible and can be cleaned up by myself? Thanks again

Yes, you do have EPS, no belts, my bad.
Best bet is taking it back informing it started having the issue after servicing
