2015 Civic EX Sedan Transmission Fluid Change
2015 Civic EX Sedan Transmission Fluid Change
I just read that I should change the tranmsission fluid in my 2015 Civic EX Sedan every 50,000 miles. I'm a little worried -- it has about 70,000 miles on it and I want to get it done ASAP.
I have 4 quarts of the HCF-2 fluid and I believe I need 2 washers? Can somebody confirm I have the right fluid, the right amount adn what the 2 washer p/n's are?
It's a CVT transmission and I'm hoping I didn't hurt it by waiting. Is there other stuff I should change too? Any filters, etc.?
Thanks!
Mike

Re: 2015 Civic EX Sedan Transmission Fluid Change
You're probably not at the damage stage, but I certainly wouldn't put it off a whole lot longer.
HCF-2 looks to be correct.
I've never replaced a crush/drain washer in my life and it's never ever leaked. It should be fine - either way, Honda dealer.
I believe those CVT's have an internal filter but the transmission needs to be dropped. Not sure that's worth the effort given that will probably last a while.

I’ll get to the Honda Dealer for the washers (if needed) and get the car in to our mechanic. How often should I have this done? I’ve seen done posts recommend every 30,000 miles.
