Did I screw up my transmission?
Did I screw up my transmission?
Earlier I was rolling slowly backwards in my 2011 automatic(no gas being used, just engine idle) & without thinking I put the car into drive before fully coming to a stop. I didn’t hear any noise & the car pulled into the driveway no problem.
few hours later I start it and it’s idling a little rough. I back out of the driveway, still idling rough, come to a stop and put the car in drive. I push the accelerometer all the way to the floor and the engine doesn’t rev at all. It’s still idling low and a little rough. Put the car in Park & it will rev up. Nothing in Drive or any other gear.
if I damaged the transmission would that cause the engine to idle rough and stop revving altogether while in Drive?
any advice would be great before I have it towed to a shop.
thanks

Re: Did I screw up my transmission?
Update: I got the car turned around(it moves slowly while idling-always has).
while facing downhill I let it roll and gave it gas & it went.
Pretty sure I forked up 1st gear. When it 2nd and driving it shifts a little hard into 3rd. Haven’t gone beyond that. I’m in a residential area so get can’t speed up.
