Two minor, but irritating problems

First time forum member.
I purchased a California, manual transmission ’06 EX Civic several months ago and have noticed several problems which are not serious, just irritating and not what I would expect from a Honda.
The first is a slightly rough idle which occurs at about 600 rpm – the normal (i,e,. warm engine) idle speed for this car. The second problem is what I believe is called “drive line ******”. This slight “jerk” happens when I apply pressure to the accelerator after letting up on it to deaccelerate (all the time in gear). These two problems seem are not as apparent when the engine is cold and the idle speed is about 700 rpm. I live in Ohio and wonder if the California specs on this car may be causing the problems?
When I purchased the Civic, I figured that the above problems were minor and I would adjust - wrong. I find them irritating and hopeful that they are correctable. Thanks in advance for any advice.

California cars are tighter spec for emission and is more sensitive to the gas and quality you use.
Gasoline with alcohol , some engines are very sensitive to that, and doesn't idle well because the alcohol burns much later and the computer thinks something is wrong and trys to compensate and turns in to the rough idle and bad idle quality you mention

you may want to try a quality gas without ethanol if you can find it and it should make better idle quallty..but may be hard 2 find the gasooline without the alcholl at ohio cause it is close to corn.

Member Plastic is right, don't use cheap gas such as ARCO a lot of alcohol in that brand, I use 76 gas much better performance for a couple of penny's more... I live in L.A.
