Hi, I bought a 2008 Honda Civic LX manual transmission the other day for a work car. The previous owner said they had the motor replaced recently and I stupidly didn't ask many questions. On the drive home I got a check engine light, but it still seemed to drive fine. Once I got home, I plugged in a scan tool and got the code P2646. With a little googling I decided to remove the Vtec solenoid to replace the gasket. Once I removed the solenoid I realized there was no oil pressure sensor unlike all the videos I watched. there was just a bolt in that spot plugging the hole. I looked around and couldn't find any indication of a clip that would be plugged into that. Would that be the reason for my check engine light and any idea how I can replace it without having the wires to connect into it?
Auto parts store didn't have the new gasket, so I haven't put everything back together yet so no idea if the gasket fixed anything or not yet.
Hi, check and clean the plugs.
After plugs checking, see live data from v-tec oil pressure sensor by your scanner.
Clean all DTC, start your engine and driver over 3000rpm.
