I have a 2008 Honda Civic LX automatic transmission 4 door sedan with 144,000 miles. I can't figure out where the leak is coming from. It is on the passenger side underneath the car engine, and I think it's power steering fluid. Every 6 months I've noticed the power steering fluid goes to the MIN line of the reservoir. I haven’t heard any whining noise. Doesn't seem to go past that line though. I have replaced the two o rings on the power steering pump, replaced the VTEC solenoid gasket, replaced the PCV valve and washer, replaced the valve cover gasket, and new black cylinder head plug cap. Could it be a leaky power steering fluid hose/line? I was thinking of replacing the power steering pressure line hose assembly. Any tips would be appreciated!
I can see some moisture near the PCV valve. Otherwise I dont see much from the top.
I’m wondering now if it’s an oil leak. I saw a post where someone had a leaking timing cover inspection plate. It’s a small black plate that has three 10mm bolts and Hondabond. I’m going to look into taking it off, cleaning it, and putting some fresh Hondabond or Permatex on it, then put it back and hope it’s sealed. Maybe thats the culprit?
Does it look like I should replace the power steering pressure line hose assembly anyway?
