RPM surge
RPM surge
hello guys ive searched around on this topic for a bit before posting.
Recently cleaned the throttle body, yes i opened it using the throttle and cleaned it didnt push the flaps by hand and stuff. but now when am in neutral the rpm surge between 2k all the way upto 3k and come down and then go up again and keeps doing it untill the car fully stops WHEN IN NEUTRAL AND COASTING
and it idles around 900-1k but before the cleaning it used to idle perfeclty.
another thing when going to change gears the car revs up for some reason now? and when i let go of the throttle in gear it takes a second and then i feel like the throttle is let go.
No codes only codes i have are for an O2 sensor and evap code
what should i check for next? new throttle body? MAP sensor? MAF sensor? am all out of ideas

Re: RPM surge
cleaned it with a throttle body cleaner, didnt take anything off at all just took the body off the intake and cleaned it, noticed the gasket was a bit dirty so i just got a thermal gasket on it and now when i brake the rpm bounce up and down when iam stopped like they are surging i honestly have no idea what could be it , i havent drove it yet after putting in the new thermal gasket cause roads are not it right now but ill report later if driving it after fixed anything.
Re: RPM surge
If you have a scanner that will show live data you can see if the TPS is reading correctly. I would expect a fault if it were not though.
Recheck your work again. Verify you got everything hooked back up properly. A vacuum leak anywhere can cause high idle.

Re: RPM surge
checked live data TPS seems fine, blips go up to 17% and then back to idle at 14.1%, honestly if i cant figure it out ill just live with it but i dont like the engine reving like that for no reason.
