What to do next?

After overheating, my 2009 Honda Civic LX was showing the following error codes: P0303. P0304, P0300, P0353, C1555. I noticed that some of the ignition coils were warped (really hard to get out). I put new plugs and coils in all 4 cylinders but the errors code remained. I'm not sure what my next steps should be. Replace the ignition wires? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Re: What to do next?

Did you reset the codes with your code reader?

Re: What to do next?

Yes, I reset the codes. It made no difference.

Re: What to do next?

If you overheated it bad enough to wreck the coils you probably have bigger problems

I don't doubt it. Any suggestions on further troubleshooting?

Re: What to do next?

Misfires on cyl 3 and 4, and ignition coil malfunction on #3, and an EPS malfunction, just to add to the mix. That doesn't sound like fun.

I only found one instance (google search result) of someone else reporting a c0155 code on their 8thgen, and it was on an 08 si sedan. Unfortunately, no resolution was posted on the thread. Just recommendations to take it to the dealership and one person recommending they check the connections at the ECM. They did, however, throw a few more codes than you did.

here's the thread

Re: What to do next?

If you can do it yourself I'd suggest trying a head swap first, as well as fixing what caused the overheating issue (fans, thermostat, water pump...), since a head is fairly cheap.

next would be and engine swap, if you can do it yourself.

if you need a shop to fix it, get a quote on a head. If they have to swap the engine, it might be cheaper to scrap the car and buy another.

Re: What to do next?

Thanks for this. I'll take a look at the ECM connections.

Re: What to do next?

Do you think it could be just bad plug wires that are causing the misfires?

Re: What to do next?

I mean, you can try. They're not traditional spark plug wires you'll find in an engine with a dizzy tho.. They're straight up .. 12-16ga wire (I'm guessing on the wire gauge here) running from the ECU to the ignition coil pigtails

edit: I'd be more inclined to locate the ecu and check electrical continuity from end to end before trying to swap out the wires. If I'm gonna be real, you'd be either de-pinning and routing your own wires or buying a brand new engine wiring harness.
