Engine vibration
Engine vibration
Hello, I recently got a 2007 civic lx 5 speed and there is a lot of vibration. Not like from the wheels or from driving, but from the engine itself. When i start it up it vibrates and makes a deep droning rumbling sound (almost like an aftermarket exhaust) but its stock. At high idle it does this but once it get to warm idle rpm it isnt really noticable and as I'm driving from about 1k to 3k rpms the engine vibrates and makes this annoying humming/droning noise. It doesnt do this under harsh acceleration and above 3k rpms.this also makes the rear view mirror vibrate like crazy. I opened the hood and I can see the engine vibrating while at higher idle before its warmed up. I'm fairly certain its just the engine/motor mounts, but I dont know how to tell if it is and which one of the mounts needs to be replaced/repaired. It's not that big of a deal as the car drives fine but its just kinda annoying. What should I do to figure this out? Thanks for the help in advance.
Re: Engine vibration
Upon further inspection I have found that the rubber on the passenger side motor mount has collapsed causing it to basically do nothing in terms of vibration dampening. As seen In the pictures. Apparently this is a somewhat common problem, and I've ordered a new mount.
