I think I broke a motor mount..............
How do you know if you broke a motor mount, how can you tell? Would it effect the shifting of an automatic?. I already searched and couldn't find anything. Thanx for your help.

sounds like a motor mount. If it does it bad at idle then smooths out, probably one of them is worn out. There are 4 of them, 1 transmission, 2 engine (1 front and 1 rear) and a side mount. check all of them for deterioration and loose bolts.

Great, I hope thats what it is, I refuse to take my car to the stealership. pppssshhh they want $89 to diagnose my problem. I'm not going to pay for some jerk-off to fix something that I can handle. Besides the no service lights are on.

Sorry, I meant there aren't any service lights on. the problem is it idles rought but the idle satys at 700rpm like normal and under hard exceleration the exhaust not sounds deeper but my car still pulls like normal. Would a bad spark plug make any of the service lights turn on?

unless the spark plug was fouled to the point where it was causing a misfire, then the check engine light wont come on. If the plug is worn, but there isnt a misfire, you will have a rough running condition and possibly slight hesitation. But if you are vibrating really bad at idle, I would look more toward a bad/weak motor mount.
How many miles do you have on the vehicle? and does it run rough or vibrate severly or bad at idle? there is a difference between the 2. A rough running condition wont necessarily be a bad motor mount. But a severe vibration at idle will more then likely point to a bad motor mount.

I have 86000 miles on it. I checked everything I could think of, everything is totally normal; oil, filters, you know all that stuff. Theres no hesitation at all under normal or hard exceleration. From the outside theres really no difference in idle sound, but once you get in the car you can hear and feel the vibration. I think it could be a mount because when I excelerate I can hear click sound right after I take off.
My SL65 rim, because a rim is all I can afford

I don't know about the civic's, but my dad had the rear motor vacuume assist go out on his old Accord. It was an auto, and when you put in gear it made this loud clanking sound, he drove it like that for about 90,000 miles and never had a problem. Honda wanted $350 just for the parts...
