Vibration at Idle and Acceleration (H23A1 Swap)

I drive a 94 honda civic hatchback with a swapped h23a1 from a prelude in it. The dash and most of the whole car shakes violentley when accelerating and less but still does when at idle. All the suspension checks out fine. Could this be bad engine mounts? Please help!

Re: Vibration at Idle and Acceleration (H23A1 Swap)

Since it is shaking at idle then it's engine related. Motor mounts would be a good place to start. It is possible that when the motor was swapped polyurethane bushings were used instead of rubber. This will make you feel more vibration. It's also possible they are worn.

Re: Vibration at Idle and Acceleration (H23A1 Swap)

How long have you had the car?
Did you do the swap?
When did your complaint begin?

You sound like you may have multiple problems going on.....

For the shake on acceleration, you need to be able to tell if the vibration is engine and RPM related, or if it is shaking at the speed of the wheels turning (axles/inner CV joints), or something else...

Worn inner CV joints might make the car feel like the engine and trans are shaking side to side at times, and the feeling usually changes or quits when the load changes.

H23A1........Balance shafts aren't timed correctly? (assuming it uses them)
The engine itself can make a hell of a lot of vibration if the balance shafts aren't timed right.

Motor mounts......Aftermarket mounts aren't normally as soft as the OE mounts.
The Integra swap I did used Hasport mounts and it vibrated a LOT. May as well have just bolted the engine solid to the frame, for all it vibrated.

Anything that moves that is touching the body when it shouldn't be? Exhaust, or that CAI snorkel?

Just got the car! They did the swap. CV joints are new but I do believe the mounts are polyurethane. It will even shake if I just rev it up.

I believe they are polyurethane mounts but not sure. Here is an engine pic I have but you cant really see them.
