Rep Power: 0 98 civic heavy vibration at idle
my 98 civic with 175k miles has an extreme heavy vibration at idle. in drive with the ac on, its worse and vibrates through the car. bought a set of new, aftermarket engine mounts from ebay and installed them and it made no difference what so ever. is there anything common with these cars.

the 2 front outer mounts (right trans mount and left engine mount) were completely broken). the other 3 top left engine mount by timing cover, back engine mount and top trans mount weren't so bad. but it is like there is another issue. or yes they are cheap mounts. but has anyone else bought cheap ebay mounts and had the same issue only to buy Honda mounts and fix the issue.

these are the ones I purchased. I will purchase oem ones and spend the money if I know that is the issue but not sure.

have googled this issue and have come up with a few scenerios. first is the mounts need time to be broken in and the vibration may go away. highly doubt this but second scenario is the mounts need to be tightened in a sequence. has anyone done this?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Seriously, factory mounts are going to be the softest.
IF mounts were the original problem. Many other issues can cause a complaint like yours.
