Strange Noise During High Humidity

Hi all,
I live in Texas so rain is not very common here. A couple weeks ago, we had a thunderstorm and overnight rains, I noticed that my Honda Civic 06 made a really loud noise when I ignited it (it is close to grinding noise). And the noise gets louder if it rain overnight and I start the car in the morning. My trusted mechanic tested the battery and did a visual inspection and he did not find anything. Any pointers are appreciated. Thanks a lot.

belt or pulley noise?
if the mechanic cant figure it out maybe you need a new mechanic

Belt squeak or squeal for about 1-2 seconds upon engine startup after a hard rain is not uncommon. My 2012 does it after it's been rained on sometimes too.

You can probably duplicate the noise by spraying water on the belt then start the engine.
Or fill the washer fluid tank and spill some on the belt LOL
