Cold Air Intake - Suggesstions
Cold Air Intake - Suggesstions
I am new to the Civic world and I am looking for a new air intake for a 2011 EX Civic Coup. Does anyone have any suggestions about the best price and part for this? It is a manual 5 speed.
Re: Cold Air Intake - Suggesstions
Whatever Google results you get will be good.
Does not add much HP if any just adds noise. I had an Injen brand on my Civic and it was very nice quality.

Re: Cold Air Intake - Suggesstions
Thank for the info. I am hearing that I need a longer one that takes air away from the engine bay. Is there a specific model for this one? Or just as long as it is not short ram?
Re: Cold Air Intake - Suggesstions
Ideally you want to get the coldest air you can which means pulling air from outside the engine bay. A Cold AIr Intake (CAI) will draw fresh air from outside. A Short Ram Intake (SRI) will draw warmer air from the engine bay. Many SRI intakes have a heat shield that blocks the heat from getting to the intake. There might not be a CAI made for your car but some brands to look into: AEM, Injen, Takeda, Skunk 2. You could probably DIY something too.
If the filter is really low (like in the bumber) just don't go into deep water. Rain water is not an issue but submerging it is!!
