Well its more of a filler than a it is a cleaner. It does a decent job of hiding swirls, and a great job with holograms. But of course, nothing compares to doing it the right way. If you scroll up some there is a pic of my car after Meguiars #80, #7, and then topped with 2 thin coats of NXT. I love that method. If you try out the NXT, after the first application, try to put 12 hours between coats. Since it is a synthetic wax, this allows time for the polymers to properly set up, then apply the second coat. The look wont be different, but the protection is significantly greater. But thats the way any synthetic is.

Layering sounds exactly like other synthetics.

I can't say I've ever heard of anyone putting a synthetic on top of a pure glaze though. I worry the glaze would cause the synthetic to not bond as well. That's the case with Klasse and Zaino at least. Good to hear it works out for you though!

I thought megiuars glaze was just a really fine polish. I have read many articls on detailing and glazes always confuse me because sometimes they are sealants too.

#7 show car glaze is a pure polish, so is #81 hand polish. #80 is referred to as Speed Glaze, but its actually an abrasive. I have never heard of a glaze thats a sealant.

For what it's worth...

How I define stuff

Polishes - Any abrasives designed to remove scratches

Compounds - A much more aggressive abrasive then polishes

Cleaners - Chemical cleaners

Glazes - Something designed purely to add to the paint, but not protect

Waxes/Sealants - Designed to give the paint a protective layer

Every company has their own way of defining stuff though.

I consider Meguiar's #7 a glaze.

I agree, #7 is a glaze, it is not used to remove scratches, just to give a glossy look
