Quick question
Hey I gotta make a drive in my civic to a car show for my school (Wyotech!) but its all the way in sacramento and Im in LA, so thats a 5 hour drive north on a freeway frequented by trucks. But my question is what should I do about my car look like the **** when I get there. Registration is at 8:30 AM and I am driving up the night before, so my car will be parked outside all night and have a tough drive the day before.
So my question is: should I wash and wax before I leave, then do touch ups when I get there? How should I go about this to make my car look good for the car show.

wash and wax and do all your prep the day before the show so that the wax has time to "cure". then when you get to the show use a speed detailer or quick detailer (same thing) to touch it up and remove any loose dirt.

Wash and wax the car before taking off. Also, use painters tape, the blue masking tape and tape up the front end of your car and the mirrors. That will keep from paint chipping from any debris(sp?) on the road. Once you get there, remove the tape and detail it. I do that all the time when I take my car up north for shows.
