2010 Low speed knocking sound from front right
100% Stock 2010 LX
Has anyone experienced a knock type sound at low speeds, 2-12 mph definatly
from passenger side front area ?? This has been happening for quite a while
(3+ years) and the mechanic has looked it over very closely (front end
stuff)
I can shut the engine off and coast in neutral and still get the same sound.
A rough asphalt surface will make it worse & gravel bad as well, grass/
smooth dirt will make it better.
The only other clues that I have are that SOMETIMES when starting the car
the noise will occur a brief bit. (while cranking) and much LESS OFTEN when
shutting the engine off I will hear it a single time.
It is a very subtle sound that once you speed up the road noise will quickly mask
(but it is still there if you listen)
The noise has stayed the same over the years, maybe a little worse as it
ages.
My thoughts at this point would be one of the mounts, not sure of a way to
diagnose this type of problem though.
Thank You, Craig W

Re: 2010 Low speed knocking sound from front right
Thanks to all for the replies !
Since it can occur ( though not as often) with the car at rest, I'm thinking that 06-060 may be the culprit not sure if that special spacer tool would quiet the noise on mine though or not, for testing purposes.
This noise is quite subtle, but still a knock from RF area. The road noise will mask it, but still present at higher speeds. I have dealt with it for quite a while now.

The rubber spacer measured 13mm thick (the important number)..... by 25mm wide and 75mm long
so any half inch thick chunk of (eraser? wood?) might work for testing.
The spacer does not eliminate vibration, it will make vibration worse while installed.
It should let you figure out if the knock is gone though.

I looked up the part # at majestic and says 10 pack. ~ $8 or so.
Not sure if my Honda tech has one or not, we did discuss that mount though.
