I just bought a replacment filter (unopened so far) and the verdict is:
WATER
They must be made that way, it's only the tiniest little amount, probably to keep it moisturized and from drying out or something

I used mine hell like twice a week...spray on water spray on soap wash with a mit or sponge or whatever. then wash off soap...and dry by hand. It beats draging around a nasty bucket with water and soap in it.
the filter needs to be kept moist so the membrane inside will rot, its written on the filter. mr clean works well (in terms of $$$) for the occassional washer, but its not for ppl who wash religiously. it only works if you follow the directions exactly.
