drain locations and access?

2002 EX Sedan. Dead stock, 5s. 120k.
No rust (really), the door seals are good, and the recent seller had the hood, roof, and trunk repainted in the correct color.

I have a passenger side floor leak. The carpet sometimes gets a little wet along the outer trim below the door, and sometimes the entire footwell is wet. The outermost lower part of the dash (where it meet the door trim) gets wet on the inner side, right above where the carpet gets wet first.
I keep towels in the trunk to put down there and soak up water.
soft rain, hard rain, deep puddles at speed, sometimes the edge is a little damp, sometimes the footwell carpet is wet all the way across. the carpet that up goes up against the firewall doesn't get wet.

I have a couple of obvious questions:

Where is the drain end of the sunroof drain tube? behind the front mudflap? I haven't yet poured water into the sunroof drain trough, because I don't know where it's supposed to come out.
How much of the dash do I need to pull to get eyes on that sunroof drain tube? I pulled the little trim panel at the end of the dash on that side, and it gave me a nice view of the bolts that hold the dash panel on, and nothing else. I'm expecting to pull the glove box and that trim panel that's right under it, and then lie on my back in the footwell. I know where it has to run, and there are a couple connectors in it, but until I can see it there's nothing I can do.

At the base of the windshield on the passenger side, the cowl has a little 'cup' area next to the wiper base, and there's a small hole at the bottom of that cup. I've seen references to drains at the base of the windshield, and that little cup and hole could not possibly be anything else. There's a little rubber piece under it that I can feel from the engine bay side, albeit without pulling anything. Assuming THAT's a drain as well, where does that one come out? How would I access That one? I'm trying to avoid exploratory surgery, since I can't take off the road for more than a day or so.

Has there ever been a manual for these that was worth a damn? The haynes I bought for this is awful. There's nothing in it. Bentley? Clymer pre merger? I'm fine with a factory manual, but I don't know where to get one.

Thanks in advance,
Eamon

Re: drain locations and access?

I didn’t think Hondas had sunroof drains. It’s a very common failure point on VW’s.

I have a factory OEM manual for 01-03 civic that I can sell you if you are interested. I found it the other day looking for something else.

Re: drain locations and access?

Sunroof has four drains, one on each corner. Front drains run down the A pillar and dump just forward of the doors I believe. Pull the trim piece off on the side below the dash and you should be able to see it. The hose can get blocked or come apart near there.
