Mysterious liquid...

Whenever I wash my car or if it rains the driver's side floor pan gets wet right in the middle. Any ideas on where it's coming from? It isn't wet over by the door, so I'm thinking it must be coming from up by the firewall. It can't be a hole in the pan cause it happens when I wash the car so water isn't splashing up from the road. Connnnfussseddd!

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

Re: Mysterious liquid...

prolly the moonroof drain tube being out of place, if you have moonroof. there are four tubes that go from the top to the bottom floor and supposed to drain outside the car. but sometimes they fall out and flood the floors (or trunk). you can easily check for this but some of the interior needs to come out to get to the tubes. they are somewhere behind the front kick panels, one on each side driver and passenger. you can also open the moonroof and pour water down each tube. if you dont see water falling outside the car, either tube is clogged or tube fell out of its hole in the frame.

Re: Mysterious liquid...

I can confirm that your "mysterious liquid" is: water.

But you already knew that, right?

Re: Mysterious liquid...

Hahaha, yes it is water

My Civic didn't come with a moon roof, so I'm assuming it doesn't have drain tubes. Do you think it could possibly be from the drain tubes that are at the base of the windshield?

Re: Mysterious liquid...

those should drain outside the car tho. idk, you might just have a leaky window or door seal. see if you can look around inside while someone hoses the car.
