Marvel Mystery Oil

Does anyone have any kind of experience with this?

I was looking for a fuel system cleaner when I came upon this.

The label claims you can add it to just about anything (to your gas, to your cracnkcase, etc...)

I tested it out for the gas mileage claim.
Its around $2-3 for 4 uses. (a few ounces per 10 gallons of gas)
Well let me first tell you about the car I drive.
I drive 100 highway miles a day for school and work.
I have an automatic.
I don't redline the car or floor it. I let the car gradually build speed. I cruise gently on the highway at around 70mph with the occasional 80mph to keep with the flow of traffic. I dont ever use the cruise control. I don't brake hard unless some idiot tries to cause an accident.
I do have a sound system in the car and I weigh 200lbs so take that into account also. No engines mods or aftermarket rims either.

I use regular unleaded 97 octane.
I usually manage 300miles before the gas light comes up.
I get around 29-30 miles per gallon.

With the Marvel Mystery Oil added to a full tank of gas,
I managed to get 330miles before the light came on.
I got around 33 miles per gallons this time.
Thats a 3mpg improvement

The weather couldn't be a factor because its always hot in Socal.
I rarely drive at night so it was always hot when I was driving.

I think this product is really worth it.
Think about it...
30 extra miles is like 1 extra gallon
1 gal in Socal is about $2.30
Thats around how much the product costs.
And you get 4 uses from each bottle.
I can save around $7.00 every 4 fill ups.

I know $7 is nothing for those of you who swim in your own money, but to us poor college kids, its an extra meal we don't have to skip

I used to use that stuff on my bicycle chain and it worked great...

not too sure about how it works on cars though.

Did your kind or 'type' of driving change? that might have improved your MPG more than the additive.

Why dont you use the cruise control? Having the car cruise at a constant speed would help out your mileage.

I drive on highways that are packed with speeding cars. We are going fast but there are too many cars on the road to safely use cruise control.
Its a bit dangerous to have cruise control on when you often have to tap the brakes.
Now if I was driving on an open highway with only a few cars then I would use cruise control. Make sense? =)

But the main topic of this thread was to show you guys that this product does seem to back up its claims, at least the gas mileage improvement part of it.

YUL, my driving style did not change. I bought this product to test its effectiveness.
BTW, I'm on my second tank using this product and right now I'm at 300miles with the gas level just under the 1/4 or 1/5 mark. I'm on my way to 330+ miles again =)
