I have a 2005 honda civic VP 2 door and when i bought it there was no tach.
I read that the 4dr and 2dr tach's were compatible.

Can someone tell me how to install it?
My father tried to yesterday, but there was not power going to the new tach.
Is there any re-wiring needed?

you can only swap in 01-02 lx/ex clusters. 03-05 lx/ex with the leds will plug in but requires extensive rewiring of the pin connectors to make it work. there is a great diy thread here and many of us have done it. the 01-02 old style should plug right in and the tach will work. just make sure the cluster backlight is the same as what you have (green for sedan and orange for coupe) and that the mileage is close to matching.

I got the 4dr cluster because i could not find any 2dr's that had the same or near the same miles.

Ended up being a 03' cluster, had to rewire the pins. Was a pain, but finally did it.

Next project is to change the LED's to my original car interior colors.
